just got myself a routout machine and must say an a engineer they are built very well
love the belt drive (use this idea in places like fords on transfer machines i install them)
just getting used to curve cut and mach3 but mesh cam is a nightmare any one is there any videos out there to learn from

I am an on and off TAIG user for a couple of years. I have both the lathe and mill. The main use besides goofing off is to make slot cars. My questions are usually simple as my needs are such. I buy tools when I see a use beyond a one time a occasion.

Hi everyone! I've just stumbled onto this forum - didn't know there was anything dedicated to taig machine owners until now - very cool. I purchased a taig cnc mill a couple years ago but had issues getting things running early on and was too busy to spend much time with it until recently. I picked up a taig lathe from Nick over at cartertools.com (awesome customer service) and am just getting up to speed. My Taig arrived last week while i was traveling for work and last night i unboxed it and made my first cuts with it. I'm really pleased with the quality and the feel for such a small machine. I told my wife to come into my 'workshop' to check out the mill and she had to take a few looks until she could actually find it, so either she was expecting a Bridgeport or my room is a mess! I plan on moving to CNC, hopefully this year, and sooner rather than later. -steve

Hi. Found this forum for me and my little taig milll, and signed up. Getting a Taig in Norway not easy, so I bought a used one on eBay (USA) in March. Got it sent over from US to Norway with boat, and had it up running in May. A very handy machine, and have made some small and "big" parts. Bought a Sherline rotation table too, so now have a 4th axis. Use Turbocnc, but see that MACH3 is some more Hi-end. Will probebly go for mack3, but then need a new computer (use a old laptop ...

Hello All I just bought a used Taig CNC mill and I am having some issues getting it going, I am new to the whole CNC thing but am a licenced Machinist so the machining does not scare me or is not difficult I als know Autocad very well and have played with Mastercam before, right now I just need to get the Mill to jog with Mach 3 and I should be able to figure most of the wrest out, anyone have a xml file or taig set up file they would not mind sharing with someone with the deep groove set up ...

I have just placed the order for a 2019 CNC ready mill and I am looking forward to learning to work metal and acetel. I am a field engineer for a medical device firm and my interests are audio equipment and music, fly fishing, photography and geology. I also have a lathe that I am learning to use.

My main application of the mill and lathe will be to R&D tonearm components. I hope that I will be able to pick up knowledge from everyone.

I have had this mill for over 4 years and it has never let me down!

Hello everyone, I've owned a Taig Lathe for a few years now, and am very close to pulling the trigger on a Taig CNC ready mill. Most of my machinig involves 1:20 scale live steam locomotives - but I have a long list of hobbies and find the Taig useful in just about all of them.
