PostSubject: Worth getting a CNC lathe??   Fri Feb 20, 2009 3:08 pm

I haven't had the need yet but I was thinking of rounding out my chop by getting a lathe. I already have the Taig mill and I do a little turning work with it but it would probably be easier to get a Lathe. I also have the G540 controller right now so I thin I would just need to get the CNC ready lathe and motors...any input is great

Could you post a link to the CNC Ready Taig Lathe, I haven't seen that available yet.

As for "needing" one, I think it really boils down if you have the money or not and like to tinker - Smile

Brian,

I don't belive we've seen pics of your CNC lathe have we? How about posting them up - Wink

No link to it, I called and spoke to Taig directly and they said that there was one coming out. Whether or not that is the truth remains to be seen but I may still get a manual lathe if need be.

Ah, ok, I thought I heard that on the yahoo forums at one point and thought maybe you saw that it was out now. Should be interesting to see what sort of setup they come up with.

Thanks,
Dave

I'd really like to see it as well, especially since I already have the controller for the CNC mill
